Welcome to art at Oregon State University. Our mission is to help you develop your technical skills, as well as your potential to be an engaged, culturally aware citizen. We are an inclusive unit—both majors and non-majors are welcome to learn here.

Now part of the School of Arts and Communication, we have restructured our four-year degree programs in fine arts, art history, and photography. We have added new classes, eliminated the freshman portfolio requirements, and increased scholarship offerings. We continue to provide you with the highest quality education, small studio classes and hands-on instruction taught by professional faculty in Fairbanks Hall and Cascade Hall. Fairbanks Gallery hosts regional artist exhibitions and West Gallery displays student artwork.

We also sponsor JumpstART, the well-known pre-college program in the studio arts. High school students from around the state and the U.S. attend this three-week summer residency program.
