Located on the first floor of Fairbanks Hall at 220 SW 26th Street, Fairbanks Gallery provides the campus and community with creative experiences and interactions with the inspired, inventive world of visual art. Exhibitions focus on Northwest, regional, national and international artists, in addition to OSU art faculty and student work. In many cases exhibitions are accompanied by gallery talks, workshops, critiques and public lectures by the featured artist(s).
Past individual exhibits have featured notable artists such as Bill Viola, Ruth Bernhard, Sue Coe, Wolf Kahn, Jacob Lawrence, Robert Motherwell, Philip Pearlstein, Wayne Thiebauld, Jerry N. Uelsmann, and Edward Weston. Group shows have included artists Robert Colescott, Christo, Jim Dine, Eric Fischl, Roy de Forest, Helen Frankenthaler, Ann Hamilton, David Hockney, Jenny Holzer, Roy Lichtenstein, Henri Matisse, Peter Milton, Robert Motherwell, James Rosenquist, Frank Stella, Andy Warhol, and William Wegman.
Each spring the gallery presents the Montage Collective student art show, and the OSU BFA senior thesis show.
The gallery is open Monday through Friday, from 8 am - 5 pm. On the third Thursday of each month, the gallery is often open extended hours for the Corvallis Arts Walk (CAW). The gallery is open over the summer but may be closed on holidays and during spring and winter break. To confirm open hours, or to arrange for group visits, call 541.737.4745.
