Bacc Core & Liberal Arts Core
The B.A. or B.S. degree in DCA is very flexible (meaning there are only a few classes that must be taken in a specific order), so it is possible to complete the major in a timely manner by taking a variety of DCA, Bacc Core, Liberal Arts Core, and B.A. or B.S. requirements each term. Typically, DCA majors will take the bulk of their major classes during their junior & senior years. The DCA Curriculum allows room for a minor, or potentially a second major. There is also room in the curriculum for students to participate in internships or study abroad.
Students seeking a BFA in DCA will have less major flexibility than their B.A./B.S counterparts, but still have room in their plan of study for a minor, if desired. BFA students are not required to complete the Liberal Arts Core. They are also not required to complete any additional B.A. or B.S. requirements. The NMC department does not recommend taking more than 2 production courses per term, due to the hands-on, time-intensive nature of the coursework.
