Biography

Neal Grandstaff teaches guitar, jazz improv, and performance courses at Oregon State University. A multi-talented professional musician, Grandstaff has worked as a performer, composer, arranger, producer, and computer conversion specialist. He is the founder of GSP Audio and GSP-Sunrise Publishing, a music production and sound design company for the digital/video gaming industry that also produces and publishes verious artists and educational videos and books.

Grandstaff has composed soundtracks for many popular video games, including Trophy Bass Fishing, Phantasmagoria, Space Quest 6, Police Quest 4, and SWAT. He has worked on recordings for a variety of industry producers. He has also performed in opening shows for Chuck Berry, The Allman Brothers, Elvin Bishop, Helen Reddy, Roy Clark, Dwight Yokum, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, Sawyer Brown and Leann Womack, and has performed for live audiences in Las Vegas, Reno, Portland, Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, and numerous other major venues across the country. His solo guitar recordings include "Alone," in the jazz style and "Guitar Classique" in the classical style.

Grandstaff's "Jonny Dark and The Wondertones," a 22-piece production band comprised of professional and intern musicians, is available in video and audio form with selections from the group's latest release, "'Round Midnight," at www.thewondertones.com.
