Joshua Rist graduated from Oregon State with a master's degree in choral music education in 2013 and is now the director of choirs at Hermiston High School in Hermiston, Ore. Rist composed five choral pieces during his college years, and a sixth during his busy first year of teaching. His "Invictus" and "Lux Beatissima" have been widely performed across the country and in Europe. Rist is also an accomplished pianist and singer, as well as composer and teacher. His first real commission, "Three Prescriptions for Depression," was written for the Jeffers-Carlson Duo and premiered at Music a` la Carte on October 3, 2014.
