- PRAx Student Fellowships
- Interdisciplinary student fellowships in arts+science, humanities+science, arts+engineering, and film+ science. Includes mentorship by mentors from both areas/fields. Annual application period: Nov. 1 to Jan. 30.
- URSA Engage
- Provides early undergraduate faculty-student research mentorship experiences. Some may be marine-related; topics vary each year. Annual application period: October to December.
- Explore and More Precollege Program
- Connects high school students from Siletz Valley School with OSU student mentors to co-develop creative research projects that address community issues using both Western and Indigenous sciences. Timelines vary.
- MACO Summer Internships
- Pairs OSU students with marine-related partner organizations in Oregon, usually in the Newport area. Annual application period: usually due in March for summer of the same year.
- Hatfield REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates)
- Paid undergraduate research experiences in marine-science areas. Annual application period: usually due in February for summer of the same year.
- OSU Story Lab Fellowships
- Paid three-term fellowships in different modes of storytelling (writing/prose, video, podcasts, photography) about research communication. Due Dec. 8, 2025.
- Oregon Sea Grant Student Opportunities
- Summer Scholars Program: paid research and other professional training; pairs scholars with a project in a local host organization. Annual application period: usually due in February for summer of the same year.
- Oregon Applied Sustainability Internships: paid internship with business/industry sustainability focus. Annual application period: usually due in March for summer of the same year.
- ODFW Wildlife Student Internship Program
- Paid internships in wildlife management, research, and conservation; specific projects across Oregon. Annual application period: usually due in January for summer of the same year.

- Williams-Mystic Coastal & Ocean Studies Undergraduate Semester: Off-campus study program in coastal and ocean studies, facilitated through the Mystic Seaport Museum and Williams College. Funding opportunities available.
