Annual Sponsored Events
The Magic Barrel
Organized by a group of Corvallis writers and readers, the Mid-Willamette Valley’s premier literary event is held each fall to raise funds for Linn Benton Food Share. The Center for the Humanities is proud to be a lead sponsor for this event that features writers from around Oregon sharing their work in support of a good cause. This year's event will be held the evening of Friday, November 10, 2023, at LaSells Stewart Center's Austin Auditorium. Stone Soup of Corvallis accepts donations at any time.
Holocaust Memorial Program
Each year, the memorial week program provides analysis of the Holocaust in its history: the background, course, and the implications. A series of lectures, performances and other events are held throughout the community to honor and learn from the past in order to combat contemporary prejudices of all kinds and to foster respect for the diversity.
