United States
Brittni Wisner is the current interim Head Advisor for the School of Writing, Literature, and Film. Originally from Palmer, Alaska, Brittni is a first-generation college student and earned her B.A. in English at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Alaska and spent one of her undergrad years in Bielefeld, Germany. After graduation, she spent time backpacking and volunteering in Africa, Asia, and Central America before returning to Juneau as an Admissions Counselor at UAS, where she spent five years working with students all over Alaska as well as teaching a study hall class and academic advising. Brittni started the M.A. in English program at Oregon State University in 2022. During her time as a grad student, Brittni taught WR 121z and served as a Composition Assistant with the Writing Program. Her research during her MA focused on early modern wetlands, women, and monstrosity; she’s always interested in a monster or swamp story! Beyond her work in teaching and advising, Brittni enjoys traveling and being outside, whether it’s running, pretending to surf, berry picking, or reading.
As the interim Head Advisor, Brittni is looking forward to supporting new and continuing SWLF students. Please stop by and say hi, divulge your Taylor Swift theories, or share your favorite running trails!
