Born and raised in Lagos State, Nigeria, Busrat Ali-Balogun is a PhD Candidate in Public Policy at Oregon State University. She holds a First-Class BSc in Economics from Fountain University, Nigeria, and an MSc in Energy Economics and Policy (Distinction) from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

Busrat's research focuses on the intersection of energy and environmental policy, with a particular emphasis on sustainability in developing countries. Her work explores innovative strategies to address the complexities of the global energy landscape while mitigating environmental challenges. She has published research in international journals on topics including crude oil price dynamics, sectoral outputs, and energy efficiency in Africa.

With over a decade of combined experience in academia and the corporate sector, Busrat served as a lecturer at Fountain University for more than eight years and gained professional expertise in customer service as a representative at First Bank of Nigeria. Beyond her professional life, she is deeply committed to community service, actively promoting education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

Busrat is passionate about engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and enjoys traveling in her leisure time. She is excited to contribute her insights and experiences to the Public Policy graduate program at Oregon State University.
