Daniel's primary research specialties are mixed methods in research (specifically in higher education settings), which includes both an interest and specialization in qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as the underpinning methodological understandings of these research paradigms.  

He also is interested in the larger project of inquiry in higher education, be it evaluation, assessment or research, as well as the larger political contexts of these space of inquiry. Finally, Daniel is interested in novel approaches to the measurement of student learning inside and outside of the classroom in the university context.
