I was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, one of the most densely populated cities in the world. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Economics from North South University in Bangladesh. Then, I completed my master's in Agricultural and Resource Economics with a minor in Statistics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After my master's, I went back to Bangladesh and worked as a lecturer at my undergrad university - North South University - for three years and eight months. I taught Applied Business Mathematics (calculus optimization), Introduction to Statistics, and Applied Statistics to Economics and Business undergraduates. I am always interested in academia, both teaching and research. My research areas are Energy Policy and Energy Economics. I am a quantitative researcher, but I also like qualitative research and mixed methods. During my master's, I worked on renewable jet fuel and renewable energy trade with the Gravity model, Environmental Policy Integrated Model (EPIC), Partial Equilibrium Analysis (POLYSYS), and Crop Enterprise Budegiting for biofuel. I also worked on a cost-benefit analysis of nuclear power at North South University under a research grant. In my free time, I watch movies, read story books, try new foods, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy nature.
