Dr. Ana K. Spalding speaks at the 7th Our Ocean Conference

Dr. Ana K. Spalding, Associate Professor of Marine and Coastal Policy in the School of Public Policy who will be speaking at an event at the the 7th Our Ocean Conference in the Republic of Palau.

Dr. Spalding will be speaking about social equity in conservation; and how it’s not just the WHAT of marine conservation that matters; but also considerations of WHO is involved and HOW we go about securing conservation on the water.

Dr. Spalding has been invited to a reception hosted by John Kerry and the President of Palau and will be part of the Panama delegation to the event. Panama is hosting the next OOC in March of 2023.

Since 2014, #OurOcean conferences have successfully generated commitments totaling around US $91.4 billion and at least five million square miles of marine protected areas.
