Corvallis, Ore. – The OSU Theatre continues its annual Spring One-Act Festival on June 11 at 7:30 p.m. with four original plays written and directed by OSU students. The filmed project will be available for viewing on the KBVR TV YouTube channel.

The 2021 lineup of plays was developed during the winter 2021 quarter as part of the OSU Theatre’s playwriting workshop course. Student directors chose from a selection of submitted scripts and collaborated with student costume designers and casts. Each play was developed with limits on cast sizes and blocking requirements in order to meet Covid-19 safety protocols.

The plays include:

“Tilly” -  written by Tess Juarez and directed by Haille Lantz, presents the story of a young solider caught between life and death encountering an old friend who helps him decide to fight to live or cross over. The cast features Srimanyu Ganapathineedi as Adam, Noah Fox as Dean, and Jessica Li as Tilly.

“Fetch” – written by Libby Brennan and directed by Lorna Baxter, tells the story of three dogs having very different reactions to a trip to the vet. The cast includes Leah Kahn as Queenie, AJ Glessner as Rufus, and Noah Fox as Sparky.

“Helping Hand” – written by Taylor Stageberg and directed by Nicholas Svoboda. Milllie is forced to attend Narcotics Anonymous, only to discover how much they need a friend. The cast features Joshua Smith as Rick and Lane Walter as Millie.

“The Play with the Stuffed Animal in it” – written by Abrianna Feinauer and directed by Hannah Schwartz, is the surreal tale of Rue finding herself trapped in a train station with no way out and only a foul-mouthed teddy bear for company. The cast includes Abigail Oliver as Rue and Kane Sweeney as Paedon.

Virtual tickets are now available for purchase online at the OSU Theatre box office. Patrons can name their own price to help support the work of OSU Theatre during this challenging time.

Special thanks to KBVR and the campus branch of US Bank for their support of this production.
