CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Theatre is back this fall! The charming and delightful holiday classic “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” runs Nov. 4-6 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 7 and 14 at noon on the Withycombe Hall Main Stage, 2921 SW Campus Way, on the Oregon State University campus in Corvallis.

The clever adaptation of the popular Frank Capra film based on the story "The Greatest Gift" by Philip Van Doren Stern and adapted by Joe Landry tells the heartwarming story of George Bailey’s encounter with the Clarence, an angel attempting to finally get his wings, told as a classic 1940s live radio play. Featuring a heavy dose of comedy and innovative live foley effects, this story of love, friendship, and community is a treat for all ages.

“Everyone at the University Theatre is excited to welcome audiences back to Withycombe Hall,” said University Theatre artistic director Elizabeth Helman, “this seemed like the perfect piece to set a hopeful tone and lift everyone’s mood.”

The play is directed by OSU Theatre instructor, Andrew Beck and features a cast of Oregon State students including:

  • Noah Fox (George/others)
  • Riley Lucas (Announcer/others)
  • Tegan Olmsted (Violet/others)
  • Dimitri Rose (Foley/others)
  • Hannah Schwartz (Foley/others)
  • Savannah Taggard (Mary/others)
