Professor of Philosophy Shari Clough has been engaged in a number of scholarship and outreach activities related to her partnership with the Difference, Power, and Discrimination program at OSU, including a panel presentation with colleagues from across CLA on June 2 at the National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in Higher Education in Portland. Clough discussed her essay “Peace Literacy, Cognitive Bias, and Structural Injustice” that appeared in the DPD edited volume Peace Literacy and Transformative Approaches to Social Justice Education. She also contributed an episode to the podcast series “Transforming the College Classroom” hosted by the DPD volume editors now available. She was asked to join the DPD program on June 9, to present her work “Objectivity and politics in nonpartisan research contexts” to the Oregon Legislative Policy and Research Office in Salem. Finally, she is facilitating a workshop on Peace Literacy and Cognitive Biases at the DPD Academy at OSU on June 14.
