Congratulations SPS Graduate Students Jessica Cavalli and Arianna Stone for being chosen to receive Oregon Lottery Graduate Scholarships
- These scholarships are provided with funds from the Oregon State Lottery
- Approximately 15-20 students enrolled in advanced degrees at Oregon State University are awarded scholarships typically not exceeding $5,000
- Half of the awards are given based on financial need and academic merit, and the other half are given based on academic merit
For this award, students are not able to apply directly, but must be nominated by their graduate program director or department chair/head, and each major can nominate no more than two students. After students are nominated, they are asked to submit their C.V. along with a statement that spoke to their academic and intellectual pursuits, commitment and persistence in scholarship, skills and abilities; how they contribute to inclusivity and diversity at the university; and how the award will support their continued education. Arianna's advisor, Dr. Gurung and Jessica's advisor, Dr. Cservenka also submitted statements of support that gave their perspective on these points. Congratulations to both scholars on being chosen for these exciting scholarships!
