Music Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete a degree in Music will be able to:

  • Develop pedagogical practices preparing them to demonstrate strategies for effective teaching and facilitating student learning, either as a classroom teacher, a studio instructor or a community arts leader. (Pedagogy)
  • Demonstrate performance skills and an understanding of appropriate performance practices for varied styles, and an application of those competencies in live performance. (Performance)
  • Musically create through composition, music technology, curriculum development, online and virtual content, and research. (Creation/Creativity)
  • Describe the values of music and music education in society and use an understanding of society and technology to engage communities in music making and the support for the arts. (Engagement)
