Music performance majors are required to do both a junior and senior recital. Music education majors are required to do one recital, the equivalent of a junior recital. For detailed information on the recital requirements and expectations, please see the Vocal Studies Program Handbook, or the Instrumental Studies Handbook.
Recitals may be held on or off campus. Frequently junior recitals are held in Benton Hall and senior recitals are held in venues off campus. You are responsible for scheduling your venue on campus with the Publicity & Events Coordinator, or off-campus with the particular venue. Students are responsible for any off-campus venue rental charges.
Recitals should be scheduled (date approved to avoid conflicts and recital application form turned in) with the Music Marketing & Events Coordinator in Fairbanks 309B by the end of fall term.
It is generally recommended that senior recitals be held winter term and junior recitals be held spring term.
While students are responsible for creating a printed program, the Music Marketing & Events Coordinator can assist with formatting, proof reading, and writing/editing your bio.
Two copies of your finished program for University Archives should be turned in to the Music Marketing & Events Coordinator by the date of your recital.
