GERMAN: Stammtisch ("The German Table") at McMenamin's on Monroe in Corvallis from 7-9pm every other week, on the even-numbered weeks (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10). This is an opportunity for students, staff, faculty, and community members to gather and speak German, and/or speak about German-related topics.
SPANISH: The Spanish Club meets Tuesdays at 6:00 PM at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center at Oregon State University. This club is for all levels of Spanish and anyone interested in learning about Spanish language and cultures of the Spanish speaking world.
Casa Latinos Unidos de Benton County: CLUB is committed to facilitating the integration of Latinos into the broader community by promoting the well-being of Latino families, by providing opportunities for leadership and capacity building, by supporting and advancing their equal rights and equal access, and by creating a climate of tolerance and cross-cultural understanding. CLUB often seeks bilingual Spanish/English volunteers and interns.
Centro Cultural Cesar Chavez: This center located on the OSU campus exists to support the different ethnic and cultural peoples' pursuit of their educational goals and the retention of their culture while informing about issues central to the Chicano/Latino/Hispanic culture and heritage.
Sophie Scholl German Immersion: The Sophie Scholl School is an after-school German immersion program in the Corvallis community for both children and adults alike. The Schule’s aim is develop and improve German skills and knowledge at various levels using contemporary, creative and engaging ways, but always tailored to student needs.
Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center: CMLC is a community-based learning center where individuals and families of all cultures come together to share, mentor, and understand cultural literacies, to access resources, and to build a cohesive community in a safe, welcoming environment.
INTO Conversant Program OSU:A program pairing INTO international students with native-English speakers in the OSU community. Help international students learn about life at OSU and about your culture while you learn about theirs. This is a great way to internationalize your education at OSU and gain cultural diversity experience here on campus.
Corvallis School District Dual Immersion Program: School wide Spanish/English bilingual education programs to teach English and Spanish at both Garfield and Lincoln elementary schools. OSU students with advanced Spanish skills should contact a World Languages and Cultures advisor to inquire about internships and volunteer opportunities as bilingual classroom aids.
