This method determines particle size distribution of granular sediments within each horizon of the soil profile. A weighed
sample of dry granular sediment is separated through a series of sieves with progressively smaller openings. Particle size
distribution is determined by weighting the material retained in each sieve and dividing these weights by the total dry
weight of the sample. Fee includes sample preparation, data collection, data analysis, report generation and transmittal of
data to customer. First sample in a request is charged the Max rate, which includes equipment set-up, supplies and
equipment tear-down. All additional samples in the same request are charged the lower rate as these activities have
already been paid for.
