Global Studies

The Global Studies Degree is Oregon State University’s unique double-degree program. It allows undergraduate students the opportunity to explore the global and international dimensions of any primary major. Global Studies Degree students demonstrate intercultural competence, knowledge in a range of global and international issues, intermediate proficiency in a second language, first-hand experience through study abroad or an international internship, and the ability to conduct research and complete extended projects through a senior capstone.

Global Studies majors represent a wide variety of fields at OSU, from Agricultural Science and Sustainability to Political Science and History. As a Global Studies student, you will earn two degrees. The first degree (the primary degree) is your chosen major in any department on campus. The Global Studies Degree (or concurrent degree) is in Global Studies in your primary degree department. Please note that you must first declare a primary major before adding the Global Studies major. The Global Studies degree is not currently offered through Ecampus.

The World Languages and Cultures program also offers a Global Learning Certificate for students who are interested in exploring the global and international dimensions of their primary major on a shorter timeline.
