Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Association's official honor society. Speech Communication majors and minors are welcome to join as either OSU chapter members or national members, depending on credit and GPA requirements. Weekly discussions involve the use of concepts learned in communication courses and their real-world and theoretical applications. Other events include an annual Communication Conference which is open to both undergraduate and graduate students studying communication. Learn and share your own knowledge with this group of motivated and enthusiastic Speech Communication majors and minors while gaining experience applicable to your field of interest.
The OSU Forensics Team team competes regionally, nationally, and internationally in individual events (public speaking and oral interpretation events that students prepare ahead of competitions) and international public debate (an extemporaneous form of one-on-one debate where students are given a choice of five topics each round). Gain skills in public speaking and argumentation while building your resume, since forensics competition suggests the possession of self-confidence, communication, organization, and time management skills. The team is open to any undergraduate student in good academic standing. Contact Dr. Mark Porrovecchio for more information or if you would like to join.
