Conversion Factors in two special measures of inflation, the CPIUX1 and the CPIURS, both in dollars of 2018. The CPIUX1 applies the post1983 CPI to the entire period starting in 1950, for comparability during that entire period. By definition, the CPIU and CPIUX1 is the same after 1983. The CPIURS is “Research Series,” with 1977 = 100, extended to 1947 by the Census Bureau), rebased here to 2017 = 1.000. Note that unlike other CPI measures, the CPIURS data can be revised each year for earlier years, not just for the most recent year. For that reason, no estimated CPIURS conversion factors are supplied for any year after 2017. The files contain links to additional sources of information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, especially concerning the CPIURS. pdf Excel
