Research Interests

My research examines aspects of social inequality under monopoly capitalist conditions and seeks to identify how our understanding of robust social networks can inform more egalitarian socioecological theories and practices.  My ongoing work applies this approach to topics within environmental sociology (global energy and social systems), political economy (harmonizing informal marijuana markets with their newly formalized counterparts), political sociology (policy-planning organizations), and social network analysis methodology (stochastic block models, longitudinal and large N networks).
