Biography

Brian Locke is the author of Racial Stigma on the Hollywood Screen: The Orientalist Buddy Film (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009, 2012 paperback, reviewed in American Quarterly and CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries) as well as articles on Hollywood, race, Asian American history, and masculinity. He holds a PhD in American Studies from Brown University and has taught Asian American studies, race and ethnic studies, cultural studies, and film studies at Portland State University, Sophia University (Japan), University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Tokyo, University of Utah, and Yale University.
