Biography

Carson Keeble is instructor of trombone at Oregon State University. He also currently teaches at Willamette University and has in the past taught at Colorado University at Denver, Xavier University of Louisiana, Tulane University and Oklahoma State University.

Keeble was the second trombonist with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra from 2011 through 2012. Prior to that he was a member of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra from 2006 to 2010 and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra from 2004 to 2006. He frequently appears with the Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, and Santa Fe Opera. He has also performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra, and many others.

An active chamber musician, Keeble was recently invited to perform in the highly acclaimed Seattle Chamber Music Society summer festival, as well as in the Seattle Symphony’s “Untitled” series, which features contemporary chamber music in an after-hours setting. He continues to perform regularly as a soloist and chamber musician in Albuquerque’s “Sunday Chatter” weekly concert series. Keeble held membership in the New Orleans Uptown Brass and Apollo Chamber Brass during his time in New Orleans and Colorado respectively.

Carson holds a B.M. from the Oberlin Conservatory, a B.A. from Oberlin College, and an M.M. from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. His primary teachers have included Raymond Premru, David Waters, James DeSano, and Steve Witser.
