Current scholarship includes history of emotions focus on relationships between militarism and modernity that explores the ways these forces shape masculinity as an embodied practice. Projects also involve work with Australian feminist Miles Franklin's unpublished texts from her time working for labour and progressive women's reform in Chicago (1906-1915), particularly in the ways her New Woman writing illustrates intertextuality or cross-generational encounters between Victorian realist traditions and literary modernism.
