Julie Green received a BFA and MFA from The University of Kansas with Roger Shimomura as major professor. Green lives in Corvallis with husband, artist Clay Lohmann, and their small cat, Mini.

Half of each year, usually winter months, is spent on The Last Supper project illustrating final meals of death row inmates. 700 plates are scheduled for exhibition at Texas State University in San Marcos in September 2017.

The remainder of each year is spent on new projects. Green, represented by Upfor in Portland, has tempera painting included the A World of Art published by Prentice Hall. With over thirty solo exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, the work has been featured in PBS, The New York Times, a Whole Foods mini-documentary, National Public Radio, Ceramics Monthly, and Gastronomica. Julie Green is a recipient of Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant for Painters and Sculptors. In 2015, Green was artist in resident at Joan Mitchell Center, NOLA, received an Oregon Arts Commission Fellowship and the 3-D Juror’s award at ArtPrize.
