Oregon State University’s Creative Writing Society is an organization created by writers, for writers.
Our goal is to create a community of writers from all backgrounds, genres, and majors. Members are connected with resources and information about literary competitions, such as publishing opportunities both inside and outside OSU.
We meet once during the week to read and discuss each other's work in a workshop setting. We also participate in activities such as exquisite corpse and other writing games to generate inspiration.

Meet the Leadership Team
Lucas Sheahin
(he/him)
President
Lucas is the Creative Writing Society’s current president, and is currently studying computer science with a minor in writing at OSU. Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, he moved to Corvallis to discover a new part of the world, gain further independence, and hike up numerous mountains. He has a host of hobbies, including baking, puzzling, streaming on Twitch, and reading at a break neck speed, but his true passion lies in the fantasy novel he is slowly crafting, which he hopes one day will be ready for the world to discover. He can usually be found in a corner of the MU, mumbling incoherently to himself about imaginary characters, plot twists, and fantastical worlds light years away.
Maria Tejeda S.
(she/her)
Vice-President
Maria is the Creative Writing Society’s vice president. She is studying creative writing, graphic design and studio art. She was born in Baja California Sur, Mexico in a town called Guerrero Negro before her parents and her moved to Hermiston, Oregon when she was two years old. She’s lived there ever since. Maria likes reading, writing, illustration, and all sorts of music, played the clarinet for 7 years, and enjoys horror, off putting media, all things weird and sometimes things considered “cringe.” She can often be found struggling through adobe programs in Fairbanks, having a crisis over her writing in Moreland, staying up until godless hours of the night doing assignments or wasting her time, and/or accompanying Chloe on their umpteenth iced coffee outside of Javastop.
Oliver Jung
(he/him)
Treasurer & Event Coorindator
Oliver is CWS’s event coordinator and treasurer. He was born in Portland, Oregon before moving to Corvallis to study mechanical engineering. Though, delusions of heroism encourage him to focus on something more people-oriented. During stints of sanity, he’ll be playing guitar, reading, bouldering, or climbing trees. Otherwise, he’ll be debating the purpose of existence, potentially also in a tree.
Elizabeth Vogler
(she/her)
Secretary
Elizabeth is the Creative Writing Society's Secretary and is studying psychology with a minor in sociology. She was born in Albany, Oregon and has lived there ever since. She is a shy extrovert, procrastinator, and night owl with a love for cats, music, and board games. When she is not stressing about school work or pouring her thoughts into poetry, she can be found reading through her long “to-be-read” list, spending time with her friends, or in line at the nearest Dutch Bros.
Chloe Vilevac
(they/she)
Social Media Officer
Chloe is the Creative Writing Society’s social media officer and both studying and working in graphic design and studio art. Originally from the East Bay, they’ve lived in Portland for long enough to forget the smell of smog. She likes printmaking and illustration, horror media, competitive video games, metal, and all things offputting. She can usually be found toiling over an adobe product in Fairbanks hall, sweating in the basement of Snell’s studios or having her umpteenth iced coffee with Maria outside of Javastop.
