Khawar Latif Khan, Assistant Professor of Teaching in Professional and Technical Writing in OSU's School of Writing, Literature, and Film, has been selected as the 2025-2026 Susan H. McLeod New Scholar Fellow with the WAC Clearinghouse. This competitive fellowship recognizes emerging scholars whose work strengthens writing instruction, writing across the curriculum, and the future of scholarly publishing.

As part of his fellowship, Khawar will collaborate with WLN: A journal of Writing Center Scholarship, a publication dedicated to research on the many dimensions of writing center work, from tutor training and center administration to inclusive pedagogies. This year's fellowship arrives at an especially exciting moments for WLN as the journal continues its shift to a digital-first publication model. With this transition, accessibility, readability, and user-centered design are more important than ever.

During his fellowship, Khawar will work closely with the WLN editorial team to assess the journal's accessibility, identify opportunities for improvement, and design new publication templates that support clearer, more inclusive, and more effective digital issues. His work will help make WLN's content easier to readers to navigate and access - an especially meaningful contribution to a journal widely used by writing center practitioners and researchers around the world. The WAC Clearinghouse, which published WLN along with numerous other open-access journals. will benefit directly from Khawar's thoughtful, research-driven approach to digital design.

Khawar's selection reflects both the strength of his scholarship and his commitment to improving writing center resources. We're thrilled to see his work recognized and his commitment to improving writing center resources. We're thrilled to see his work recognized at this level, and we can't wait to see the creative, impactful updates he brings to WLN in the months ahead. Please join us in cheering him on!
