Background

Dr. Thompson has worked at OSU since 2011. He earned his BA from The Evergreen State College, in Olympia WA, before receiving his MA and PhD in philosophy from the University of Washington, in Seattle WA. He currently directs the MA/MS graduate program in Applied Ethics, serves at the editor in chief of the journal, Environmental Ethics, and is a past-President of the International Society for Environmental Ethics.

Courses

In addition to occasional courses on various special topics, Dr. Thompson teaches PHL 205 Ethics, PHL 440/540 Environmental Ethics, PHL 444/544 Biomedical Ethics, PHL 541 Classical Moral Theory, and  PHL 542 Contemporary Moral Theory on regular rotation.
