Our Plan

The College of Liberal Arts provides personalized advising to undergraduate students who are currently pursuing or wish to pursue a major in one of the Liberal Arts disciplines. Advisors are available to assist students with selecting, planning, and completing your academic programs. Advisors also serve as great resources for career development and internship opportunities. While still open, some of our processes have changed in response to COVID-19 - we are now offering in person and zoom appointments starting September 22nd, 2021.

COVID-19 and Advising

CLA Advising is still open and serving you.  Please contact us if you need support or advice during this unusual time. For students physically on campus, our main lobby in Bexell Hall will be open Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm.  However, our office will continue to hold all advising appointments (unless otherwise arranged) through Zoom or phone. Starting September 22 we will be open our regular hours (8am-5pm, Monday-Friday) and will offer appointments both in person (distanced, masks required) and via zoom.  Online appointments can be made by calling us for an appointment as you normally would, stopping by in person, or by visiting our virtual lobby. We are also offering online “drop-in” and same-day advising for certain types of question such as: help finding a new class if one you were registered for is canceled or no longer works; questions around the bacc core and CLA core; general questions about University processes.

We’re here for you.  Give us a call at 541-737-0561

Student Services Drop-in Hours

We know how busy our students are, which is why CLA Student Services offer online drop-in hours. Feel free to make an appointment via phone or through our Virtual Lobby. We'll be here. (Note: hours may be impacted by COVID-19, please contact us to confirm times)

    Advising Tips

    • Have an idea of the questions you would like to ask when you come for your appointment. Be thinking about goals (graduation by a certain time, studying abroad, internships, etc.) and write down any questions you might have.
    • Review your schedule of classes. Write down classes you are interested in taking.
    • Make a list of your other commitments (For example: sports practices, work, internships, family responsibilities, etc.) this will keep your plan on a realistic schedule.
