Marigold is a practitioner-scholar who has dedicated her career to the internationalization of higher education. She currently serves as Director of International Admissions at OSU. Her research interests include the role of private actors in international education, Third-Culture Kids, intercultural communication, and public diplomacy. Marigold has served in the field of international education for 25 years, with experience in public and government relations, exchange program administration, outreach and communication, international student recruitment and retention, leadership development, graduate students success and academic advising. She has held positions in various higher education settings including Oregon State University, the Japan-U.S. Educational Commission (Fulbright Japan), Education USA Japan, the University of Washington-Seattle. She is an active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators and serves on the leadership team of the International Enrollment Management Knowledge Community. Marigold is a proud alumnus of the CSSA Program at OSU. She holds a BA in English from the University of Washington-Seattle, and is a PhD candidate in Comparative and International Development Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She is bilingual and bicultural (Japanese-American) and is passionate about promoting mutual understanding through educational exchanges. Marigold loves animals and enjoys experiencing world cultures and foods.
