  Keynote Speaker Nina Eidsheim (UCLA): The Body as Music's Terrior

Renowned Musicologist and Researcher Nina Eidsheim from UCLA, will be our featured keynote speaker. Eidsheim’s research interests include multi-sensoriality, production and perception of vocal timbre, twentieth and twenty-first century music vocal music and opera, critical studies in race and gender, performance studies, sound studies, and voice studies. She will discuss the power of the panaudicon listening technology, the ways in which it is wielded, and the ramifications of its use. Her research has been published in journals including American QuarterlyOpera Quarterly, Current Musicology, The Senses & SocietyPostmodern Culture, and TRANS-Transcultural Music Review
