Dr. Mei Ching Lien is a Professor in the School of Psychological Science at Oregon State University and an affiliate of the Center for Healthy Aging Research. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Purdue University and completed postdoctoral training at NASA Ames Research Center. Her research focuses on attention, cognitive control, and visual information processing, with a particular emphasis on how individuals resist distraction across the lifespan. Dr. Lien has an extensive publication record in leading journals and has held editorial roles across multiple cognitive psychology outlets. She is widely recognized for her excellence in teaching and mentorship, supporting students at all levels in research and professional development. Her work has received numerous awards, reflecting her sustained contributions to cognitive science and higher education.

This lab is accepting applications for undergrad research assistants. Preference will be given to students who are Psychology majors or minors, junior, sophomore, or freshman have GPA of 3.2 or above, and will be able to work with Dr. Lien for at least one academic year. These positions are ideal for students who are interested in gaining research experience relevant to Cognitive Psychology and Human Factors using computers and EEG and are planning to attend graduate school in the future.
