The Center for Material Cultures Research in Archaeology, Art, and Indigenous Studies

Housed in the top floor of historic Fairbanks Hall, this 6,400-square-foot facility will provide new infrastructure for student coursework, faculty research, and public engagement. The space will include a laboratory for digital 3D scanning and artifact analysis as well as collections facilities for OSU’s growing Indigenous Studies program. Funded in part by an NEH Challenge Infrastructure and Capacity Building grant, the Center for Material Cultures Research (or CMCR) will expand CLA’s facility for object-centered practice and storytelling.
