Participate in Study: Investigating Distance Estimation in Virtual Reality

Principal Investigator: Dr. Kristen Macuga

By participating in this research study, you will be directly contributing to the current understanding of distance estimation within virtual environments, which could help software developers design better virtual reality experiences.

Participation in the study involves:

  • No more than 45 minutes of your time
  • Viewing simulated movement through a virtual environment without physical walking, making distance estimates, and responding to a short survey
  • Receiving a $10 gift card from your participation.

 

To participate in this study you must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Live in the United States
  • Have 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 vision (with contacts, not glasses)
  • Use one of the following VR Headsets:
    • HTC Vive
    • HTC Vive Pro
    • HTC Cosmos
    • HTC Cosmos Elite
    • Oculus Rift S
    • Oculus Rift
    • Oculus Quest (with a PC link cable)
    • Oculus Quest 2 (with a PC link cable)
