How are visual cues integrated with other types of sensory feedback (i.e., vestibular, proprioceptive, etc.) and with motor signals? Using virtual reality, we can present visual information that is either consistent or inconsistent with motor signals and with other movement-related sensory cues and look at how this influences learning. We are currently investigating the role of visual, auditory, and tactile feedback in movements requiring high precision. We are also examining how sensorimotor learning generalizes, or transfers, across different tasks.
