REGISTRATION
*Registration opens on Wed, Nov 22, 2023 at 7:30 a.m.
Online registration will be limited to 23 total choirs (18 festival registrations and 5 waitlist spots)
Choirs will be put onto a waiting list after the first 18 registrations have been received. If your ensemble is one of the first 18 choirs to register, you will be invoiced by Oregon State University for the $350 festival fee. Your registration will not be complete until full payment has been received, and payment must be returned to OSU by February 1, 2023. Ensembles who have submitted a registration but have not returned payment by February 1, 2023 will lose their spot at the festival.
A completed and signed Campus Visit Agreement form needs to be returned either via email to [email protected] with your check. Payment must be received before a timeslot is assigned.
Insurance Requirement
OSU now requires for your students to be covered by insurance to attend an OSU on campus event. You may send a Certificate of Insurance (COI) from your school district, or you purchase insurance for $2 per participating student.
Here is what is required on the COI:
- Commercial Liability and/or Excess or Umbrella Coverage (totaling $2 million per occurrence / $4 million aggregate)
- OSU needs to be listed as the Certificate Holder

- OSU needs to be listed as an Additional Insured with the following language: COI should include language in the description of operations to include: “Oregon State University, its officers, board members, agents and employees are named as additional insured.”
ELIGIBILITY
An educational state qualifying festival set in the same venue as the 2024 OSAA Choral Championships. The event will be the following:
- 20 minute performance session on the Austin Auditorium stage.
- State qualifying scores and comments from qualified adjudicators.
- Video/audio of performance.
- The choice of either an OSAA state sight reading experience, or a 20-minute sight reading clinic using sight reading materials similar to the OSAA state choir championships.

- Dr. Steven Zielke: the Patricia Valian Reser Professor of Music at Oregon State University
- Dr. Sandra Babb: assistant professor of music education at Oregon State University
- John Baker, Tilikum Choir, Rex Putnam High School-retired
SIGHT READING ADJUDICATOR
- Aubrey Patterson, Oregon Repertory Singers Youth Choir.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Oregon State University will not be held responsible for valuables or any other personal property that is lost or stolen during the festival. Storage rooms are shared between schools and are not locked. Encourage students to leave their valuables at home or on the bus.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
February 1, 2024. A final schedule will be emailed by February 1, 2024. Choirs on a waiting list (if necessary) will be notified of their position on the list. Registration will close when capacity has been reached even if before February 1, 2024.
