A variety of graphic design scholarships may be available to students accepted to the professional program based on experience, interests, financial need and other criteria. The requirements vary for each scholarship creating a broad array of opportunities and assistance for students who currently study graphic design. In addition to the application, some graphic design scholarships may require the submission of additional materials for full consideration. The number of graphic design scholarships awarded varies each year.

Other scholarships and grant opportunities are available through the Office of Financial Aid. Please note that early application for admittance to the university and for financial aid will work to your advantage in being considered for scholarship opportunities

Scholarship Information & Applications

If you are a continuing student who wishes to be considered for graphic design scholarships, please submit the continuing GD scholarship application form by May 15, 2020.

When submitting this form, you will also need to submit:

Required:

  • Unofficial transcripts
  • Visual Portfolio, consisting of 3 graphic design projects of an exemplary nature, with descriptions of project objective
  • A 500 word (max) essay describing your interest and experience within the field of graphic design, submitted as a PDF

Optional:

  • FAFSA Estimated Family Contribution 
  • Video entry (submitted via link)

Currently admitted Pre-Graphic Design Majors enrolled in GD 126 (Intro to Graphic Design) during Spring 2020.

Up to two scholarships may be awarded to qualified Pre-GD students accepted into the Professional Graphic Design Program for the Fall 2020 term. Current OSU students enrolled in the GD 126 course and in good academic standing may apply for these scholarships. Students will be notified regarding scholarships at the time of their acceptance into the Professional Graphic Design program (on or around July 1, 2020).

Current Professional Graphic Design students entering the third or fourth year of the Graphic Design Professional Cohort

Up to four scholarships may be awarded to qualified Pro-GD major entering the third or fourth year of the Graphic Design Professional Cohort with a minimum major GPA of 3.25.
