PUBLIC POLICY
Economics
We provide high-quality undergraduate teaching in the field of economics, mentor and teach graduate students in the MPP and PhD program, conduct high-quality economic research, and promote a collegial community of faculty, staff, and students. Together we work to find solutions to the world’s most pressing economic challenges.
Political Science
We are devoted to excellence in research and teaching about politics and government at the all levels. As scholars, we extend the boundaries of knowledge about politics through original research presented to the academic community and the public. We enable our undergraduate and graduate students to develop informed, critical thinking about politics and public life.
Public Policy
We develop the abilities of present and future policy researchers and leaders in Oregon, the region, and the world to meet the mounting challenges of governance in the 21st century. Our faculty analyze policy solutions to wicked problems and train and mentor our students with the analytical, research, and communication abilities to positively impact public policy initiatives.
Sociology
We research and teach on the social causes and consequences of human behavior, across a wide array of social issues, from the intimate family to the collective mobilization; from crime to religious behaviors; and within and across divisions of race, gender, and social class. We create engaged citizens, problem solvers, and ethical professionals who understand and explain how society shapes individuals and individuals shape society.
In the Public Policy Accelerated Master’s Platform, you can take graduate classes in public policy, apply those credits to major requirements, and transfer them to the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program. Learn more about the MPP Program!

This scholarship supports undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Public Policy engaging in experiential learning opportunities. Such experiences may include internships, simulations, field schools, mock trials, and other similar programs.

Paula Krane Women in Politics Experiential Learning and Research Scholarship
This scholarship supports undergraduate students in projects such as research, presentations, internships, thesis development, or similar activities related to the study of women’s political participation locally, nationally, and/or internationally.
