Advocates for Freethought and Skepticism meets once a month, sometimes twice, and is an inclusive community of individuals of both like-minded and sparring interests. We were formed to provide a safe
space for discussion of faith, religion, philosophy, ethics, skepticism, atheism, anti-theism, theism, agnosticism, freethought, secular humanism, separation of church and state, and many other issues.
AFS is the only group on campus with the express purpose of providing a space for secularly identifying individuals or those who are questioning their faith, and we make an effort to help individuals value themselves and feel valued by others. We also host movie nights, mock debates, and discussions with professors on campus on various secular or faith matters. We often do joint meetings with the Religious Studies Club to promote understanding and collaboration between individuals of different religious or faith-based identities.
