OSU research on topics related to contemplative studies includes the factors influencing the effectiveness of meditation techniques, research on the precursors of compassionate behavior, the intersections between Buddhist philosophy and scientific methods, links between yoga and environmental issues, and research on the psychological basis of Buddhist explanations for karma.
